# Why use this command?

Save significant disk space without losing quality by converting to the modern H.265 standard. Ideal for archiving or streaming.

# Parameter Explanation

- `-c:v libx265`: Use the x265 encoder for H.265 compression. - `-crf 28`: Constant Rate Factor. Higher values mean lower quality/smaller size (28 is a balanced default for H.265).

Common Errors & Solutions

"Video won't play on TV/iPhone"

H.265 is not supported on all older devices. Ensure the target device supports HEVC, or build in a fallback to H.264.
